Journalism Tips by Het Belang van Limburg Editor-in-Chief

Ivo Vandekerckhove 

 

EPN Limburg was glad to host Mr. Ivo Vandekerckhove, the editor-in-chief of Het Belang van Limburg, at the office of the Vuslat Association Beringen, where Mr. Vandekerckhove shared his experience he has gained throughout his journalistic career. 

 

Short Biography of IVO VANDEKERCKHOVE 

Ivo Vandekerckhove was born in Waterschei on 11.06.1954. He completed his elementary school education at St. John’s School Waterschei and high school education at St. Joseph Institute Heis. Afterwards, he studied Journalism at Erasmus Institute Hasselt for two years. After working as a technical employee at KS Waterschei and free-lance journalist at De Morgen and Het Nieuwsblad, he became the managing editor of The Age in 1993. Since 2000, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of Het Belang van Limburg.

Mr. Vandekerckhove is the editor with the longest track records in Flanders.

In 1993, he wrote a book titled “De Miljarden van KS” that deals with the government intervention in coal mines. The book has made quite a splash in book-review circles.
